Room of the Week – Ridifarne Kitchen
It seems fitting to start with a property that we have been letting for over 30 years, the very popular Ridifarne. If private access to the beach and stunning views of the Helford River are not enough for you perhaps the 3-acre garden will be of interest. Today we will look at the recently refurbished kitchen and larder.
Although there is a large formal dining room next door the owners choose to keep a breakfast table in the window giving you a choice of where to watch the view while you eat your cream tea. The new electric Aga keeps the room warm and makes you slow down a bit while you’re on holiday. Although you don’t have to plan quite as far in advance as with a traditional Aga this will take 30 minutes to get up to temperature, we only ever get good feedback from guests cooking with it.
The separate utility/larder stores the fridge freezer and washing machines, keeping the kitchen nice and peaceful.
The mases of kitchen worktop make for the perfect location for a bit of holiday baking! If you fancy a break from cooking then a short walk along the beach takes you to the popular Ferryboat Inn, or hop across the river on the ferry (or kayaks if you bring them) and have a meal at The Shipwrights on the south side of the river.
