Summary

Weir Point Stables sits surrounded by trees on the banks of the picturesque Restronguet Creek. Waves lap the shore just a stone’s throw away at the secluded Weir Beach, where the whole family can enjoy playing in the water or rambling around in the rock pools.

Striking a balance between contemporary beauty and luxurious comfort, this property is a haven for sailors, walkers, and families looking for peace and quiet beside the water. Sleeping up to six, contentment indoors comes from a woodburner, and living areas on both floors. A ground floor bedroom is perfect for travellers wishing to avoid the stairs after a tiring day spent out and about exploring Cornwall.

Large windows face towards the creek from the open-plan kitchen and living area, filling the space with natural light as the idyllic view of boats passing on the water is framed by grand, mature trees. Birdsong fills the garden as you stretch out and soak up the sunshine, and the handy door out from the kitchen to the patio makes ice-cold G&T deliveries direct to the sunlounger and al-fresco breakfasts a breeze.

Atmosphere is always on the menu at Weir Point Stables, where the set up of kitchen and living space naturally encourages conversation – and not only at family dinners around the table crafted from a tree felled here in the garden. When your chef fancies a night off, though, simply stride out along the footpath to dine on the pontoon at the nearby Pandora Inn – a 13th Century thatched pub, and one of the most memorable in Cornwall. Then, as you take the late evening stroll home, turn your heads to the sky – and marvel in awe at the depth and clarity of the stars.

Please note this is a quiet residential area perfect for people seeking peace and tranquillity.

Restronguet Weir is situated in the tranquility of Restronguet Passage. Moments away from the cottage,
the small and tidal Weir Beach awaits discovery. It’s an ideal spot for paddling and moments of quiet
relaxation, where, at the shoreline, a mixture of sand and shingle basks in the morning and afternoon sun.

Picturesque creekside paths stretch out in either direction, taking you through woodland and pasture to the
surrounding villages and marinas. The path heading north west takes you to the famous, medieval
thatched pub, the Pandora Inn, where you can enjoy hearty food while resting in the sun on the pontoon.
You can also hire crabbing equipment, so the children can explore the wildlife that gathers in the
surrounding waters.

If you wander south, through Greatwood and open fields with stunning views across Mylor Creek, you’ll find yourself in Mylor Bridge. The quaint village has excellent shops, including a fishmonger, a butcher, a general store with organic local produce, and a Post Office. You’ll also find a welcoming village pub, The Lemon Arms.

Further along you’ll reach Mylor Church and Mylor Yacht Harbour. For water lovers there are pontoon berths and swinging moorings with immediate access to the Carrick Roads, while on land there are numerous eateries, including Cafe Mylor, which is great for snacks and sandwiches, and Castaways, serving everything from Italian to classic British and fish dishes.

Although you’re in a secluded area of the county, surrounded by farmland, the main road is only a five minute drive away. From Weir Point Stables, the port town of Falmouth – with its beautiful beaches and excellent range of eateries – is a ten-minute drive, through Penryn. While Cornwall’s capital and main shopping hub, Truro, is just a fifteen-minute drive away.

Sehr schöne Unterkunft, bestens ausgestattet, toller Blick, sehr nette Gastgeber, die in der Nachbarschaft wohnen. Die Anreise ist etwas abenteuerlich, aber es ist es auf jeden Fall wert.
