Location and Surrounding Area

Give in to the scenic beauty on your doorstep where rolling hills, golden sands, and wild and winding coastal paths await. Bound out of the door and drop onto Maenporth Beach below for a day of sunbathing, rock pooling, swimming, and watersports. Mawnan Smith village, with its post office, general stores, The Red Lion Inn, Awna Coffee House, and the Oystercatcher gift shop, is just 1.5 miles away.

Take the 10-minute drive to Falmouth town where you will discover an array of boutique shops, stand-out eateries, and creative galleries. Falmouth is also home to renowned events such as the International Sea Shanty Festival in June, Falmouth week in August, and Falmouth Oyster Festival in October.

From here, catch the Fal River ferry over to the popular and pretty fishing village of St Mawes, where Henry VIII’s coastal fortress awaits your discovery.

Travel towards Mawnan Smith and out to the Helford River for some of the county’s finest and secluded wild swimming spots. Sail, paddle or kayak along the calm estuary stopping off at the historic Pandora Inn for an iced drink and fresh crab sandwich.

Garden-lovers will find paradise in nearby Trebah and Glendurgan gardens, an adjacent pair of subtropical gardens close to hand on the banks of the Helford River. Located a 40 minute driving distance from the rugged and wild cliff tops of the Lizard peninsular, excitement is never too far away from the serenity of Bay View.

The apartment was very high quality. The bed was very comfortable. There were a few slight issues but nothing that spoilt the stay or inconvenienced us. The lift was not working when we arrived. This would be an issue for anyone who had trouble with steps.
