Elysium is a short downhill stroll to the creative and vibrant harbour town of Falmouth.

An excellent food scene, along with a rich calendar of events throughout the year, make Falmouth a top cultural destination, as well as a wonderfully picturesque one.

Wander up Falmouth’s Old High Street and be welcomed by an eclectic mix of boutiques, independent shops, hidden courtyards, and steep opeways that give glimpses of the sea. Discover nearby Fox Rosehill Gardens, a peaceful subtropical secret and the legacy of the Fox family, who are famous for the curation of Trebah and Glendurgan Garden.

Port Navas Creek in the Summer behind Pedn Billy Boathouse

The beaches are but a 15-minute walk away, along the beautiful tree-lined approach of Arwenack Avenue. Uncover the popular and pretty Blue Flag Gyllynvase Beach with its famous Gylly Beach Cafe.

Visitors who wish to explore further afield will love the scenic ferry trip to St Mawes or the quant village of Flushing where they will be greeted with waterside pubs and calmer beaches. Take the short drive over to the breathtaking Helford River area to discover ancient woodlands, dog-friendly beaches, crystal-clear waters, and creeks simply brimming with nature.

A wonderfully situated and decorated cottage in the heart of Falmouth. Comfortable, warm and perfect for our family of four. Lots of steps so not suitable for those of restricted mobility but that’s made clear. One of the best kitchens we’ve seen in a rental cottage and welcome pack most appreciated. Close to all central amenities so we didn’t drive unless going out of town. Off street parking and car charging a huge bonus but we suggest there should be instructions on how to use the charger, and the code sent in advance to avoid onsite queries. The location is central and so there is a little noise eg we could hear the local nightclub bass late into the night. Wasn’t a big deal but light sleepers may notice. In the whole a lovely break and wed book again!
