The Farmhouse CottageHelford River
As you wind down the country lanes leading to The Farmhouse Cottage, the first glimpse is enough to let you know that something special awaits. The Farmhouse Cottage is plucked straight from a picture book, think inglenooks, rough-hewn stone and a picturesque setting worthy of a chocolate-box. This quintessential holiday cottage is full to the brim with character.
Traditional on the outside, a local master builder has created a surprise within. Deceptively roomy, the interior marries cottage charm with the modern sensibilities of gathering and sharing. The heart of cottage life is the kitchen, which warmly beats at The Farmhouse Cottage, with swathes of room to spread out and conjure something marvellous, cosied by the Aga. Chefs also have a top of the range electric oven to work with.
The owners of the Farmhouse Cottage encourage merriment – bring your stock of spirits and make use of the cocktail trolley. There are four generous bedrooms upstairs and children will love the adventure of plenty of spots for hide-and-seek. Perfect for hiding out from the grown-ups and planning some holiday mischief.
Soft textures and touches of the nautical remind guests that although bedded within the fields and pastures of the countryside, the seaside is close by. A zip along country lanes leads to the creekside at Port Navas and the quiet shingle coves of the Helford River. A drive in one direction takes you to the blue flag beach at Falmouth, or head west to The Lizard, to explore sandy shores, rugged scenery and rolling waves.
The front door leads into the warm, country kitchen. Large dining table for 8 adjacent to the Rayburn. Well equipped with all the mod-cons including an oven, induction hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and Nespresso machine. Back door leading to the garden.
With WC, basin, washing machine, tumble drier.
Smart TV, Playstation and comfortable seating. Doors leading out to the patio.
Charming, open plan room with wood burner and smart TV. Dining area for four beside a cocktail trolley set within an inglenook fireplace. Stairs up to bedrooms and door to the front garden.
Stairs to First Floor
Nine very steep cottage stairs, unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues or small, ‘unsteady on their feet’ children. Also please note that the floors on the first floor slope in some areas.

Location and Surrounding Area
Step out with the dog at dawn and watch the golden light turn the morning mist into magic. Pause on the bench out front beside the wooden porch to wiggle on wellies. Enjoy the hush of the countryside broken only by birdsong and mosey along country lanes with the little ones in tow. Roam permissive paths and rights of way to your hearts content through farms and woodland in search of trickling streams and ancient trees.
