    Summary

Breakfast in bed, or rise and shine early for a dawn dip. Palm Cove is the couple’s retreat of choice, just yards from the sea and a short stroll from Falmouth town. There’s the comfortable and well thought out interior, complemented by a secluded, sun-trap, enclosed garden for lounging and alfresco dining.

If you are in need of some vitamin D, rest and rejuvenation then look no further than Palm Cove. The blue flag Gyllyngvase beach is only a hop, skip and a jump away, or even closer is Castle Beach. Pop on your cozzie, wrap-up in your towel and have your flip flops at the ready. Sea swimming is good for the soul and with your warm shower just up the road you really must dive on in, whatever the season.

If stand-up-paddle-boarding is something you’ve always wanted to try, pop to Gylly Beach and speak to WeSUP where the helpful team will get you on the water in no time.  Both of the above beaches have cafés and at Gylly you can eat from dawn to dusk at the popular Gylly Beach Café, including on the outside heated terrace.

Holidays are mostly about relaxing of course and to help you take it easy we’ve got some great ideas. Loungers in the garden, a morning at a local hotel spa pool, brunch at the divine Indidog restaurant or browsing the galleries for some holiday momentoes. Come the evening, stroll the seafront or wander into town for sparkly lights, buzzing restaurants and harbour views.

    Location and Surrounding Area

You can arrive at Palm Cove, park the car and leave it in the same spot for your entire holiday if you wish. Falmouth town is just a ten-minute walk away and from here you can catch ferries and boats to St Mawes, the Helford, Truro and Flushing. Feel the wind in your hair and enjoy the sights of Falmouth from the water.

Falmouth enjoys a vibrancy throughout the year, including, to name a few events, the Sea Shanty Festival in June, the Oyster Festival mid-October and Falmouth Week in August.

With a maritime history rooted in and around the water it’s no wonder the National Maritime Museum Cornwall, on Discovery Quay, is a firm favourite with visitors. Pendennis Castle, Henry VIII’s finest coastal fortress, perched high on the point is another interest point, or at least worth a stroll around the perimeter for the wonderful views.

No visit to this area is complete without a day on the unspoilt Helford River, just a short drive, or a 90 minute walk from Falmouth. Take a picnic, or grab a bite to eat at the waterside Ferry Boat Inn, at Helford Passage. For the rugged, breath taking coastal vista walks head further west to The Lizard. St Ives and its charming arts scene are best visited in spring and autumn. The Eden Project is 45 minutes away and a real treat for the senses.
