Location and Surrounding Area
Within a hundred yards of the property are the famous Jacob Ladder Steps, 111 (fairly uneven and not for the faint-hearted) stone steps leading down to Falmouth’s Piazza and home of the Tuesday morning Farmer’s market and many other events throughout the year.
Falmouth has an array of fantastic, independent restaurants, so you might find it hard to cook for yourself while holidaying at The Old School Room. Fresh fish and seafood are in abundance, particularly at The Wheelhouse, The Shack, Kona and of course Harbour Lights.
The town features a great selection of interesting shops and galleries so you can treat yourself to a holiday memento. Within yards of the Piazza you can catch buses to various locations across Cornwall or from Prince of Wales Pier there are several ferries to places such as St Mawes, Truro, Flushing and the Helford River.
Gyllyngvase Beach and the renowned Gylly Cafe are just a fifteen minute stroll away.
Truro is a twenty minute drive, the Eden Project thirty-five, St. Ives and the North Coast forty.
