Fiona, staying at 23 Florence Terrace
From our Summer stay at 23 Florence Terrace
Artists, writers, families and holidaymakers have for many years retreated to Cornwall to escape the city, chasing the quiet peace and simplicity of country life. At Florence Terrace, town and country align handsomely – here is a generous Regency Townhouse within walking distance to the beach, with sea views out to the horizon. The very best of both worlds. There’s nothing like exploring a new place with a child-friendly holiday home as your base.
23 Florence Terrace is laid out over three floors, with proportions fit for a sea-captain. This expansive, rustic home contains a treasure-trove of period features and places to hideaway. Take a moment to cosy up beside the wood burner in the eaves whilst watching the ocean, or picnic in the walled garden.
Large windows to the front face south to embrace sunlight throughout the day, you’ll soon understand why the unique quality of the Cornish light has proven to be so enduringly enchanting.
The leafy, sought after streets of Florence Terrace and Woodlane in Falmouth have harboured artists for over a century, resulting in creative influences imbuing the very nature of this building. From the artfully designed bespoke kitchen to the paintings, pottery and objets d’art that decorate the home, a stay at 23 Florence Terrace will stir the imagination and delight any visitor, adults and children alike.
Postcard writers will adore the study, with its windowfront desk ideal for gazing out to sea as you search for the words that sum up your holiday in Cornwall. ‘Blissful’ might be a good place to start…

Guests of 23 Florence Terrace have the good fortune of being located just a short stroll from Provedore, a gem of a deli in the side-streets serving takeaway food and drink.
The shops and restaurants in Falmouth’s vibrant town centre are a short walk away, as are the passenger ferries for day trips to St Mawes and Truro. Falmouth has a thriving arts scene, with galleries, an independent cinema, and pop-up events happening throughout the year.
A 15 minute drive will take you to the Helford River, where peace can be found in open fields and ancient woodland lining the water. Here small coves are accessible from the south west coast path, with country pubs and gardens abound.
