Emma, Staying at Coastguards
It's just a short walk to visit the castle, a sandy beach, rock pools, maritime museum, shops & restaurants.

Stunning sea views, a peaceful Scandinavian mid-century interior and wonderful south facing position. It is easy to see why Coastguards has such a following of regular visitors. The breath-taking views of Falmouth bay and the close proximity to Castle Beach make this the perfect coastal retreat.
Coastguards features a large verandah and outdoor seating on both sides of the accommodation for you to make space for yourself, to relax, read and contemplate the good things in life. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms making this the perfect retreat for two couples or a family. The beds in the second bedroom can be zipped together to form a super-king, 6 foot bed, or separated to form two full-size single beds.
The design conscious owners have carefully crafted this well equipped, yet minimalistic style abode for you to enjoy a Falmouth holiday home, which is yards from the beach and you are just moments away from warm, moonlit, evening strolls along the seafront. Falmouth town centre is a gentle ten-minute stroll away, where there are many great, independent restaurants serving fresh, local produce, so please be excused from not cooking on your holiday!
As you first approach the town centre you come to Discovery Quay, the Events Square and the National Maritime Museum Cornwall. Watch the activity on the harbour and the comings and goings of the sailors as they prep their yachts for global voyages and adventures on the high seas.
The Ships and Castles Leisure centre (with swimming pool and fitness studio) is a minute walk up the path. Castle Beach is almost the same distance in the other direction and Gyllyngvase beach just a few minutes walk beyond. With all these opportunities for swimming and rock pooling be sure to remember your bathers, buckets and spades.
Enter the apartment through the patio doors at the front into the front room with 4 chairs and a built-in window seat.
A large room with two sofas, a large TV, and a dining table with chairs to seat 4.
A large space with oven and hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer.
With double bed, wardrobe, drawers and two bedside tables.
Walk in shower, WC, basin, heated towel rail and storage cupboard.
With 6ft super-king, zip and link bed (which will be made up as a super-king unless you request otherwise), wardrobe and two bedside tables with lamps.
With bath, WC and basin.
Lots of potted plants, table and chairs for 4.
There is parking in front of the apartment on a lower level, 16 fairly steep steps (with hand rail) from Coastguards. Not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.
As well as being in close proximity to swimming pools and other activities for children, Castle Beach is just two minutes on foot. Ten minutes on is the (Blue Flag), safe and sandy, Gyllyngvase Beach.
From your little spot right on the coast, a world of walking is available via the South West Coast path. On the doorstep of Coastguards are routes and paths around Pendennis point, through coastal woodland and alongside the castle walls of Pendennis Castle. A stroll around Pendennis point offers a perfect vantage point for the local area with spectacular views of the Roseland, St Mawes and Flushing.
Falmouth Docks train station is just 5 minutes walk away, where connections can be taken to Truro mainline station. Buses can be caught from the seafront to take you into town if you are not so fancy on your feet. From there buses and coaches can be caught to take you further afield. Falmouth offers good transport links and A roads to take you to the North coast or further along the South Coast. Truro is 20 minutes by car and St.Ives and the Eden Project at St Blazey are 40 minutes.

Our wonderful view of Falmouth Bay from the verandah. A beautiful room to sit and relax in and enjoy the panoramic views of the bay.

Some photos of the wonderful views at different times of the day across the bay from our stay at Coastguards near Pendennis Point, July 2021. From the vibrant colours to the tropical plants, we truly felt as though we were abroad! Inspiring! Thanks, Rachel.
