Location and Surrounding Area

Port Navas is situated at the head of one of the most delightful tidal creeks on the Helford River and is approximately 7 miles from Falmouth, 6 miles from Helston and 16 miles from Truro. Constantine and Mawnan Smith both have a variety of shops.

Port Navas is a good centre from which to visit the many sandy coves and fishing villages of the Lizard Peninsula. The north coast is within an hour’s drive and several secluded beaches are just a short drive away. Passenger ferries are available from Helford Passage to Helford and from Falmouth Prince of Wales Pier to the upper River Fal, St. Mawes, Truro and Helford River. The beautiful subtropical gardens of ‘Trebah’and National Trust ‘Glendurgan’ are nearby

The area is a yachtsman’s paradise, excellent for sailing, motor-boating or rowing and is a perfect base for those wishing to explore the Helford River and its upper reaches, including Frenchman’s Creek, immortalised by the late Daphne Du Maurier. Slipway facilities are available for launching boats and moorings may be arranged. Both motor and sailing boats may be hired locally with sailing tuition available. Local Regattas.

Port Navas Yacht Club – your local, quirky gem on the edge of Port Navas creek. For opening times and menu please visit Please book ahead with your hosts Nigel/Mike 01326 340065 as the venue is somewhat bijou! Dogs and children welcome. For boat moorings/berths – Tom 01326 340525

The Budock Vean Hotel with its golf course, health spa and restaurant (open to non-residents), is five minutes away by car.

Cottages and holiday homes on Port Navas Creek

- April 2024

Great location and lovely spacious house. Really quiet and relaxing village to have as a base and lots of other villages, cafes and local shops nearby. The house could do with a bit of attention in a few places, but nothing that would stop us from booking again.

Thank you for your lovely review of Trevean, great that you found it a relaxing place to stay near the Helford River. A character cottage, Trevean retains many original features, we are glad that you would stay again. All the best, Sarah and the team at Cornish Holiday Cottages.
