Self-catering holiday homes in Cornwall are often described as “by the sea” but this delightful apartment really couldn’t be any closer to the water! From the small balcony off the living room, steps lead directly onto the beach at low tide (care will need to be taken with small children).

This ground floor apartment in the waterside development of Packet Quays in Falmouth is ideally suited to those who can manage a few steps but want to sit back, relax and enjoy the uninterrupted views. Sailing yachts and other pleasure boats provide an ever-changing scene whatever the weather.

This holiday home is well maintained, comfortably furnished and well equipped with gas central heating and double glazing. Falmouth town center, with all its amenities, is just a few minutes walk.

Location and Surrounding Area

To the side of Victoria Quay is a slipway where a dinghy or kayak can be launched. Falmouth Marina is a three-minute drive away. Some steep steps or a longer sloping route take you up to the High Street level, from where you are minutes walk from the main shopping centre of Falmouth. From the heart of Falmouth, explore the historic town, or take a boat trip from the nearby Prince of Wales Pier to St Mawes, Flushing, or further afield.

Falmouth has a great mix of unusual shops, waterside bars and restaurants, as well as leisure activities, such as the Ships and Castles swimming pool, art galleries and the National Maritime Museum Cornwall. Lovely beaches are nearby, and you’ll be a short drive away from the Helford River- an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with beautiful scenery.

Great view and good parking but facilities need TLC . Door to balcony very grubby and glass cracked to one side, also lock to balcony broken. It would be easy to lock yourself out. No instructions for boiler or means of ventilation in bathrooms as windows did not open. Double bed mattress sags in the middle and duvet and pillows worn and lumpy, Conflicting instructions about refuse disposal and no recycling for holiday lets. It would have been useful to receive position confirmation of security deposit not being used and to be asked for feedback sooner than 3 weeks after return.

I am pleased to hear you enjoyed the fabulous harbour view from Victoria Quay 2 and the parking. I have taken all your comments on board and we are attending to the matters you raised. The balcony glass is not a quick fix though as the entire set of windows will have to be replaced which is a major winter job, requiring scaffolding and major investment. We have had it checked and it is believed to be safe. We do have an out-of-hours number which is 24/7 so please do call anytime, if you stay with us again, and we will do what we can to remedy matters on the spot. We are as frustrated as you are about the lack of recycling facilities at Packet Quays, unfortunately, this is in the hands of the management company. Regarding the security deposit, we do state in our letter that we will make contact with you, if there is any reason why we might need to draw on your ‘card swipe’ and in no circumstances will money be taken unless we have spoken to you first. I am sorry if you felt that was not clear. Best wishes, Emily and The Team

We love this property for its proximity to the sea. This ground floor apartment has its very own small balcony with steps directly onto the beach or into the sea - depending on the tide. We have enjoyed the quietness and the views for several years and will continue to do so. The ever-moving scenery is lovely. And all so close to the town. This year we all had a go at paddleboarding with varying success!!! The ease of getting on and off the board at high or low tide is the best. Then up the steps to the cosy indoors and a yummy Cornish pasty. What more could you want from a holiday. We will be back!

From Packet Quays not only do you get an ever changing vision of superb sun-rises, wonderful ships and boats of all types, but also the occasional confused duck! We love it and keep coming back
