Location and Surrounding Area
While there is plenty to keep you busy in Falmouth itself, Halyards is also perfectly placed for exploring further afield. Within 50 minutes drive you can find yourself in the artistic haven of St Ives, a town of whitewashed cottages, golden beaches and world-renowned galleries, including Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden. It’s a wonderful day out for those who love art, coastal walks and good food, with plenty of excellent restaurants tucked away in its cobbled streets.
To the north-east, the Eden Project offers an entirely different experience – a remarkable global garden housed in giant biomes, where you can wander from the rainforests of South America to the Mediterranean’s olive groves in a single morning. Families, gardeners and the curious alike will love its imaginative displays and seasonal events, making it a must-see at any time of year.

Closer to home, a trip down to the Lizard Peninsula reveals some of Cornwall’s most dramatic coastal scenery. Think hidden coves, turquoise waters and windswept cliffs – it’s easy to see why this is one of the county’s most cherished areas. From the picture-perfect fishing village of Cadgwith to the white sands of Kynance Cove, the Lizard promises a day of discovery, all within a 40-minute drive from your base at Halyards.
